This is the doppler radar image from February 10, 2009. This was the tornado that hit the northern part of Oklahoma City near Edmond, OK. Doppler radar is showing a classic hook echo. As you can see at the end of the hook the color is red. A lot of times when we see images like this, it usually means a tornado is happening and is on the ground.

Tornado Warning
Tornado season has arrived a little early. A strong storm system combined with unseasonable warm weather and moisture produced at least two tornadoes in the Oklahoma City metro this afternoon. National Weather Service confirms a tornado touchdown in Edmond near Coffee Creek and Kelly. Baseball size hail was reported in Yukon and Guthrie. It felt like May in Oklahoma today.
