January 2009

January 2009 is coming to an end already. It seems like New Years Day was just yesterday. This year has started off good. We had alot of God's Favor for January. There was only one major disappointment. The Sooners lost to the Gators in the BCS Championship game. Oh well, our basketball team is doing great right now. I can't wait until March Madness.

Super Bowl

The Super Bowl is this weekend. I talked to a guy today who lives in Chicago. He is a big Chicago Bears fan. I asked him which team he wanted to win on Sunday. He told me Pittsburgh, and I asked him why. He told me something that I never knew. He told me that the Cardinals were in Chicago before they moved to St.Louis and Arizona. I never knew that Chicago used to have 2 NFL teams. I guess we learn something new every day.

Country Folks Can Survive

Well, we have survived another Oklahoma winter storm. Back to work tomorrow. The time off has been great. We had some great home cooked meals! (Thanks Jennifer, I love you!)

I thought my work was closed today, but I just spoke to my boss about 5 minutes ago and he said they were open. (Oops!)

Take care everyone and stay warm.

Ice Storm 2009

Sleet fell most of the night, and is falling right now. Work is closed. It looks very slick outside. Thank the Lord that we still have power, and we have heat. My love for the weather does not include ice and cold weather.

The Birthday Boy

I had a wonderful birthday today. Peach cobbler and ice cream at work, and strawberry cake at home tonight. Wow! I am truly blessed! It's one of those special days that a person can sit back and think about all the great things that the Lord has done in their life. Life is great! Take care everyone! It's almost Friday!

What's the story?

What is the story behind my photo of the water mill? This water mill is located in Sycamore, MO. Sycamore is located about an hour or so drive east of Branson, MO. This famous water mill is known as "Hodgson Mill". My dad was born in Sycamore, MO., and our great great grand parents sold this mill property to Alva Hodgson in 1884. The spring spews nearly 3,000,000 gallons of clear, cold water a day. The great taste of this water is outstanding.

First Post

I think I am ready for my first post. I was off of work today. I stayed home with my daughter Emily who is 3 years old. We had a wonderful time. We spent most of the day playing with our new Wii that we received for Christmas. We played a baseball game. Emily has now figured out how to pitch the ball to me. One of these days she will probably beat me.
